Cookie policy
We use a single analytics tool, PostHog, to see which docs pages visitors read and how they move through the site. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no profiling, no data sold. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no events are sent.
What we store
When you click Accept, PostHog sets a first-party cookie
and a localStorage entry on gaffer.kurrent.io. They hold an
anonymous identifier so PostHog can tell repeat page views apart from new
ones. The identifier is not linked to your name or email.
We also store a small gaffer-docs:cookie-consent entry in
localStorage with the value accepted or declined
so you don't see the banner on every page. This is set regardless of which
option you choose — it is the record of your choice.
What gets sent
- Page URL, referrer, viewport, browser and OS (from the user agent).
- Coarse geolocation (country, region) inferred from your IP by PostHog at ingest time. The raw IP is then discarded.
Data is sent to PostHog's EU ingest (eu.i.posthog.com) and
stored in the EU. We do not run session replay, heatmaps, autocapture, or
any third-party advertising or marketing pixels.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a decline automatically: the banner is never shown and PostHog is never loaded. You don't need to do anything.
Changing your mind
If you previously accepted, the button below tells PostHog to stop capturing, forget the anonymous identifier it stored, and reloads the page so nothing further is sent.
